At present, with the continuous development of the domestic communication industry, optical fiber communication has entered the stage of practical application, and the scope of application is getting wider and wider. For optical fiber connectors used in optical communication systems in my country, either imported connectors are used, or so-called "parts" such as imported ceramic sleeves and peripheral metal parts are assembled in China, or according to the imported foreign technology and Key equipment is produced, mainly FC-type fiber optic connectors. In view of this situation, the author recommends the following.

(1) Standardization issues

There are many types and standards of optical fiber connector products in the world. If the introduction and use are not restricted, confusion will inevitably occur, which will bring inconvenience to maintenance and management. According to reports, in this regard, the United States, Japan, Germany, France and other countries have established national standards, which are recognized by IEC; my country also has similar regulations in this regard. It is suggested that such provisions be published in the form of national standards as a content in technical documents such as technical specifications or network access requirements.

(2) Compatibility issues

Since communication is a systematic project, it is suggested that users should consider the compatibility of optical fiber connectors used in optical transmission equipment, optical auxiliary equipment, optical test instruments and other items when ordering. On the basis of not affecting the performance of the system, the instrumentation equipment ordered should be as consistent as possible with the fiber optic connector of the existing instrumentation equipment. If it cannot be satisfied, you should consider the possible problems in use, and order or prepare the corresponding adapter flange or adapter wire.

(3) Production and use problems

As far as production is concerned, it is recommended that the state guide the manufacturers of optical fiber connectors to develop them based on a core component (such as Φ2.5mm pins and corresponding sleeves) in accordance with relevant regulations and in combination with domestic existing and usage conditions. Develop products that meet national conditions and meet needs.
